Solar Inverter

A Solar Inverter is a device that converts the direct current (DC) from the solar panels into alternating current (AC) which is used by domestic and commercial appliances. It is one of the most critical components of the solar power system as it converts power from the sun into more useful energy and is often referred to as the brain of a solar system. Solar inverters are a crucial part of a solar system since power from the sun cannot be directly used to run electrical appliances. Starting out as just boxes converting DC into AC, today, solar inverters have evolved to become much more smart and intelligent units, performing other functions such as data monitoring, advanced utility controls etc. Solar Inverters in India are mostly imported through a few domestic and international manufacturers have set up manufacturing operations in India.  String inverters can be used for both rooftop and utility solar, while the central inverter is used exclusively for utility-scale applications. Micro inverters are the best option for residential solar but they are not yet very popular in India.

Off Grid

Off-grid inverters, also known as stand-alone inverters, do not need to be hooked up to a solar panel. Instead, they draw the DC power from batteries which are charged using PV arrays or other resources like engine generators, hydro turbines, and wind turbines. Because these inverters are isolated from utility grids, they do not require anti-islanding protection. Further, they cannot export excess solar electricity into the grid. Off-grid inverters find use in remote areas or when people want to live completely independent of the grid.

On Grid

Solar On-Grid System where solar power is converted into grid power. Through this Solar Rooftop System, you can utilize your empty roof to save electricity for almost 25 years. Make the most of Solar Energy System, and get a Rooftop Solar Power Plant wherein a series of solar panels will be installed and connected together to convert solar radiation into electrical energy.
Use solar electric system to generate electricity in an eco-friendly manner. In this solar energy system, the energy from the series of panels is fed into an inverter so that the energy can be converted in alternating current compatible with grid power. Thus, the On-Grid Solar System will only work when there is constant electricity supply from the power grid.

Thin-FilmSolar Panels

Thin-film solar panels are an extremely new development in the solar panel industry. The most distinguishing feature of thin-film panels is that they aren’t always made from silicon. They can be made from a variety of materials, including cadmium telluride (CdTe), amorphous silicon (a-Si), and Copper Indium Gallium Selenide (CIGS). These solar cells are created by placing the main material between thin sheets of conductive material with a layer of glass on top for protection. The a-Si panels do use silicon, but they use non-crystalline silicon and are also topped with glass.

As their name suggests, thin-film panels are easy to identify by their thin appearance. These panels are approximately 350 times thinner than those that use silicon wafers. But thin-film frames can be large sometimes, and that can make the appearance of the entire solar system comparable to that of a monocrystalline or polycrystalline system. Thin-film cells can be black or blue, depending on the material they were made from.
